These days of tough economic times, we are all looking for inexpensive recipes for food we can eat which is tasty but still a cheap meal. You like saving money as much as I do. Enjoy this inexpensive meal dining tip !
Preparing my light, yet substantial, 15-cent breakfast.
1. Place two slices of bread in the toaster.
2. Crack an egg in a bowl & whip it only lightly w/ a fork so it will be nice & fluffy (if you like your scrambled eggs the way I do).
3. Place in microwave, cover, heat for one minute & one second. (You may want to alter this timing choice, depending on how you like your scrambled eggs.)
4. Lightly salt & pepper your egg if you like.
5. Place egg between toasted bread slices & enjoy.
Takes about two minutes & gives me a 15-cent breakfast.
Here's how I arrived at the phenomenally cheap price of this light breakfast:
The price of a cheap loaf of bread divided by the number of slices in the loaf, which I then multiply by 2 (as I use 2 slices).
The price of my carton of eggs divided by the number of eggs in the carton. Of course there is some expense for electricity, but it amounts to next to nothing. (Aside: I'm assuming you own a toaster & microwave . . . if you don't, my condolences.)
The best thing about the 15-cent breakfast is that it can also be the 15-cent lunch, the 15-cent dinner . . .
More great ways to cook on a budget!
